For borrowers & partners

Understand the loan before you sign for it.

Unhurried, plain-language guidance for anyone weighing up borrowing — and a partner network for the brokers and lenders who want to reach those people properly.

  • Free to read, no account needed
  • No consumer fee, at any stage
  • No invented numbers anywhere on this site

Here as a broker or lender instead? Read the partner overview.

Loan Resource Partners is an information and referral service. We are not a lender and we do not make credit decisions.

Guided reading

Three questions, and we’ll point you at the right page

Answer what applies and the panel updates as you go. It runs in your browser, nothing is sent anywhere, and no account is needed to use it.

01 What are you trying to do?
02 Where are you in the process?
03 What matters most to you?

Written to be read, not skimmed past

Every guide here is written for someone making a real decision with real money, in ordinary language, with the awkward parts left in.

No numbers we cannot stand behind

You will not find an invented statistic, a fabricated testimonial, or an average-savings claim anywhere on this site. If we cannot source it, we do not print it.

Two audiences, told apart

Consumer guidance and partner material live in separate places, so nobody has to read past a sales pitch to find an answer.

For borrowers

The questions people are embarrassed to ask out loud

Most borrowing goes wrong in the same few places. Someone accepts a longer term without noticing what it does to the total cost. Someone applies to six lenders in a fortnight and watches their file take the hit. Someone consolidates debt into a lower monthly payment and pays more over five years than they would have paid in three.

None of that is a knowledge failure on the borrower's part. It is a failure of the material they were given, which is usually written to move them along rather than to inform them. Our guidance is written the other way round.

For partners

A network for brokers and lenders who would rather explain than pressure

The partner side of this business is simple. We publish material that brings in people who are researching a decision rather than reacting to an advert, and we introduce them to partners whose products actually fit what they came here for.

That is a narrower proposition than most networks make. It also produces a better conversation on the other end of the introduction, which is the entire point.

How it goes

What happens if you use this site

Four steps, in the order they actually occur, with nothing hidden in between them.

A person writing on a printed document with a pencil.
Paperwork is where borrowing decisions are won and lost. The guidance is written to be read before any of it is signed.
01

You read, without being chased

Nothing on this site requires an email address to read. There is no gate, no countdown, and no pop-up asking whether you are sure you want to leave. Read as much or as little as you like.

02

You decide whether borrowing is even the answer

Sometimes it is not, and we would rather say so. Our guides include the cases where waiting, negotiating directly with a creditor, or speaking to a non-profit credit counsellor beats taking on a new loan.

03

If it is, you are introduced to partners who fit

Where you ask to be, we introduce you to partners in the network whose stated criteria match what you described. They contact you, they make their own decisions, and you are free to decline every one of them.

04

You keep the decision

A referral is an introduction, not an approval and not an obligation. We are not a party to any agreement you sign, and every rate, fee, and term comes from the lender offering it.

Two doors

Whichever side of this you are on

The two halves of what we do are genuinely separate. Take the one that applies to you.

01 If you are borrowing

Guidance, then an introduction if you want one

Start with the reading. When you are ready, you can create a free account to keep track of what you are considering.

  • Free to use, with no fee to consumers at any stage
  • No obligation to accept anything you are shown
  • Plain answers about what we do with your details
Read the guidance
02 If you are a partner

Join a network built on explaining, not pressuring

Brokers, lenders, and financial service providers who want introductions to people already researching their own decision.

  • You set the criteria; we only send what fits them
  • Consent and disclosure handled properly at the source
  • A named contact, not a ticket queue

Before you ask

The things people write in about

Six answers we give often enough that they belong on the homepage.

Are you a lender?

No. We do not lend, underwrite, service, or fund anything, and we make no credit decisions. We publish information and, where you ask us to, introduce you to partners. Every term you are offered comes from the lender offering it.

What does it cost me?

Nothing. There is no consumer fee for reading anything here, for creating an account, or for being introduced to a partner. Our revenue comes from partners in the network.

Will reading this affect my credit?

No. Browsing a website has no connection to your credit file. A credit check only happens when a lender you have chosen to deal with runs one, and they have to tell you before they do.

Do you give financial advice?

No, and we are careful about the difference. We publish general information. Advice about your specific circumstances should come from someone with no financial interest in the outcome — a non-profit credit counselling agency is a good place to start.

Who sees my details?

The partners we introduce you to, so they can respond. We do not sell your information into unrelated marketing lists. The privacy policy sets out the specifics, including how to have your record deleted.

How do I stop hearing from anyone?

Email us and we will suppress your details on our side. If a partner is contacting you, you will need to opt out with them directly as well, since they hold their own copy of your enquiry.

Read first. Decide second. Sign last.

That order costs nothing and it is the whole of our advice. Start with the guidance, or take the three questions and let us point you at the page worth reading.

Loan Resource Partners is not a lender, bank, or credit union and makes no credit decisions. Creating an account is free and puts you under no obligation to apply for anything.
